Last week I went to New York City on vacation. I grew up in the NYC suburbs and I love going back to visit. As usual, my mom and I ate completely awesome food.We went for Dim Sum at Dong Yi Feng Seafood Restaurant in Flushing, Queens. The dumplings were delicious! We got a great assortment of food.My cousin Marilyn made me these beautiful kebabs. My mom and I stopped at Dojo Restaurant in Greenwich Village for lunch. This has been one of my favorite restaurants since high school and I always try to stop there when I’m in New York.I got the fried fish sandwich with tahini and a side salad – one of my favorite things to eat!We found a great Vietnamese Restaurant called Saigon Shack for dinner. I ordered the vermicelli noodles with shrimp and spring rolls and my mom ordered a spicy brisket bahn mi.It was right on MacDougal Street – so fun!We visited our faviorite Indian restaurant Dawat for lunch. There used to be a Dawat near the town I grew up in and we’d go to the lunch buffet there all the time. That location closed a few years ago but luckily there is a Dawat in Manhattan. We were there during restaurant week and got to share a restaurant week special. It included some of our favorite things – chicken tikka masala and spinach with cheese cubes! We finished off the trip with crab puffs and ginger gai pan chicken at Lum Yen in Mamaroneck, NY. It was such a peaceful and relaxing dinner at the end of a great trip!
